Resigned

jord | 23/2/070 Comments

I don’t know whether I mentioned it or not, but I resigned from Sinnotts last week. 4 and a bit weeks notice, so I finish up on the 16th of March, giving me 2 weeks to help get things sorted before we fly out. My teeth are still hurting, but healing well, and the stitches should start falling out soon apparently.

We are down to 2 weeks until we move out now, and the house continues to be full of half full boxes, and half empty cupboards and shelves. I am heading to Mens convention at Katoomba tonight and tomorrow, but Sunday will be jam packed with packing and sorting. Fun for all the family.

On another note, I was looking into a lot of Flash design portfolio websites yesterday for on reason or another. There are so, so, so many sites that are flashy and wooshy and impressive, but totally unusable. You cant find the navigation, the text is tiny and unreadable, and there is almost no content to speak of. For all the advances in making flash more accesible, and quicker to download, and more versatile, there is still loads of awful stuff out there.

Just a thought.

The Wisdom Tooth reviews

Once again I was laid up for a few days after having half my wisdom teeth taken out last wednesday. So what better time than to hire a bunch of $1 DVDs and watch them. I only watched a handful of those I borrowed, but for your reading pleasure, here they are. Keep reading…

I write this with an aching mouth. The last two of my wisdom teeth were yanked from my mouth this afternoon, so I am puffy, sore and sorry for myself. It is unfortunately been a terribly romantic Valentines Day for Chan.

Thankfully we were able to celebrate our first married Valentines Day in part last night, we went to dinner at the most fantastic restaurant/café in Newtown, Buzzzbar.

thank god

i guess this post is a little themed as you can tell by the title - we have had so much to be thankful for in the past week - spending time with friends who got home safely from their honeymoon - being able to go to work at my awesome new job - jord being able to do something handy around the house - being able to get his teeth done before we leave (although he probly isnt too happy) - maybe finding a house for our rabbits - some good news from family that we will elaborate on later - and not least is that one of my (our) best friends being able to walk away from a car accident that he should have been a lot more injured from. God not only looks after and cares for each of the hairs on our heads but he gives us things to be thankful for all the time - and i really believe, wants to show us how powerful he is through the lives of loved ones and friends. So a big thank you to God for being so awesome this week - well and the rest of the time too :)

Coming Together

jord | 8/2/072 Comments

Well there has been lots happening on the organising front the last couple of days.

Our planned accommodation in Christchurch fell through, and after a bit of a frantic search, and some even more frantic emails, we have found somewhere else. And God being as good as he is, it is cheaper, and also a lot closer to the area we will be looking to rent in. We will be sharing kitchen and bathroom facilities, but thats not a big deal. Have a look!

We also have somewhere to stay once we move out of the house, which is nice to have sorted out. We have emailed the church we are hoping to attend.

So its all starting to come together.

hi guys

i know - terribly poor form after saying i was going to blog more often i stopped completely.

sitting here this mornign waiting for my uncle to turn up (2 hours late and counting) despite my cooking breakfast promise he still isnt here so i thought i would take the opportunity - and with any luck, he’ll turn up and the post will be short.

things are doing well for us right now - packed most of the un necessary stuff up and getting rid of it today - although we still have a bit to go it will be nice to know the moving process has started.

maybe have found somewhere to stay once we arrive in chch and trying to line up rental properties to look at the first week… 5 weeks till we’re out of the house and 8 weeks tomorrow we will be flying over the pacific to start our new life…

crazy and scary all at the same time… mostly good scary but our suitcases arent that big - its making me nervous.

in other news - work is awesome and despite being cut to 3 days a week im still really enjoying hanging out with the oldies and think maybe i could find some work like that in chch - although not sure

just a job as a professional bingo caller would be the ultimate job for me - I LOVE iT

we may have found a home for one of our 3 bunnies - but need to find people to look after the other 2 (that come with their own cages and bowls and water bottles and food and stuff!!!) so if you’re interested - let us know… please

i think i’ll stop now - im hungry :(
