A quick Update

jord | 26/3/070 Comments

Just to let you know we’re still here, we just have very limited internet at the moment, but thought we would let you know where everything is at.

We’re all moved out of our house, and currently livingwith my grandparents in Blakehurst. They have been wonderfully hospitable and very understandable of the fact that they have barely seen us.

Chan finished work last week, so we’re both off this week to make all the final arrangements and sort everything else.

We’re in the last week now, all our nights are booked, and even some breakfasts, to catch up with people one last time before we fly out. Then Sunday morning, 7am, we will be gone.

I’m hopeing to update the photos soon, and post more often, but that might depend on the internet situation. Either way, you will hear from us in a little while.

bye bye bunny bye bye

today was another sad but happy day when we took the bus home from work to pick up our other, other bunny that will now live at my work. already there has been suggestions of names to call it and recipes to cook it but all in all i think the residents will all be hapy to have a little creature to look after and play with - even if it is shedding some unwanted hair… quite sad as it is my second last day at work - i fear i will miss everyone so much more than i anticipated but looking forward to spending some time with new friends over a drink or 2 tomorrow night before heading off down the coast for a relaxing night with my hubby before a busy and full last week before flying out

forever.

I’m finished work now, but this week has been crazier already than a week at work will be. But everything is getting closer.

and counting…

yep so in a few weeks we will be gone and its all getting just a little bit too real to be honest. despite absolutely HATING packing and cleaning and moving stuff around and being forced to throw things out, we are about to embark on a huge adventure… i feel like i should be on the cover of a book entitled “the gillmans take on the world” although that does sound a little dramatic - and at the end of the day - its just a couple of people moving - there were lots before us and there will be lots after us… i think im just going to miss peoples company - not that i dont love jordans company…well you know what i mean.
i guess the biggest change for me in this whole process was not moving out or having our stuff flying down the freeway to Penrith but on Friday night saying goodbye to my bunny who i have had since she was 7 weeks old and could fit into my pocket or carry around in my hand… the though that i probably wont see her again was possibly the saddest thing about our deciding to move… to people we are only a phone call away - literally, but i cant call her, or write to her, or email, or even talk with… she is with her new family who will take awesome care of her - i know that - but if this is what it feels like when kids move out of home then i need to apologise to my mum and reconsider having any.… its horrid. all the same - its our choice to go and i need to remember that - as hard as it is sometimes…

Moving [030307]

(kudos to anyone who can spot the relevance of the post title).

Well on saturday we got most of everything moved out of the house to penrith. It was a busy and hot day, but it’s all sorted now,  most of our worldy possesions are up sitting in the loft, and it is packed really, really full. Much thanks to Stan for all his fantastic help with everything.

All that is left now are the little things we either want to take, or bring over later, and stuff to return to people. 1 week till we are out of the house, 2 till i finish work, 3 till chan finishes up, and in 4 weeks we will be gone…

scary stuff.
