and becasue my assignment straddles the long weekend - i get paid for the day off too!!! yay for that

of course i am still looking for full time work but im not saying no to work - or the money

so - after being rejected and wasting a month of my life (as i want allowed to apply for anything else during the “process” of interviewing for the council) trying to get 1 job - i got sad - got mad - and now im getting even! i was formally rejected at 6pm on friday night and as at 7.30pm friday night i had applied for 5 jobs that i can do - now we play the waiting game - i have had an email back already so we’ll see what happens. I know that its out of my hands - i am just glad the waiting is all over - and im free again.

in other news - newcastle were smashed by brisbane last night in a 71-6 scoreline that, had i of kept watching past halftime, i could have cried at.

i bought myself a new present but we have to go pick it up - pictures to follow sometime

A few thoughts and snippets from this week…

* I hadn’t realised how much I had missed watching Rugby League until we watched the State of Origin on Wednesday night.

*One of the best things about nz is coming out of  a night at the pub and not smelling like smoke. You’re not allowed to smoke anywhere indoors over here, so you just come out smelling like.… normal.

*Kiwis are, for the most part, very courteous on the road, but today it seemed like all the idiots were out, we were almost backed into on 2 separate occasions.

*Very excitingly, we bought a shelf today, meaning we can store some of our stuff in it, instead of on the kitchen table, on the kitchen bench, on the v, on the couch, and wherever we previously found anywhere.

*We also got a stereo for the car ($35). It has an analog radio, and even a tape player. Rock On.

*We remembered today that we are actually allowed to wash our car. We got so used to just dealing with it back home, because of water restrictions we didn’t think about it. Till we realised we had the dirtiest car on the road.

after the past week i feel like i have taken my HSC exams over again - only this time it was harder… the end of my epic interview process is over and yesterday i spent 4 hours being ‘assessed and observed’ by people who i couldnt talk to…
there are 10 of us from over 100 applications who made it to yesterdays assessment centre and from that there are 4 jobs on offer…
i was supposed to hear back today - and with the business week coming to a close i ponder on whether i am employable…
hope to hear something on Monday…

UPDATE… As at 6pm tonight i am not employed by the Christchurch City Council…

rock a bye baby…

maybe its the weather - maybe its other stuff - but we are both having so much trouble sleeping at night its become somewhat a joke for us… trying to figure out who was awake the longest by the noise outside… ‘did you hear those people?’, ‘did you hear the car after that?’, ‘whats with next doors visitors coming by so late?’.
the issue is, we still to function during the day and its getting harder… i found myself wandering off during bible study last night and thinking th cahir i was sitting on was really comfy…
despite applying for more jobs and still experiencing this craziness of trying to get a job at council… there is nothing happening in terms of jobs for me… and im frankly getting a bit sick of it…

We headed out for a leisurely breakfast this morning after having slept in. C1 Espresso had a lot good things said about it on the net, so we thought we would check it out, and we were very impressed. Keep reading…
