hmmm, that title looks a little strange. Some people will get the random NKOTB reference. But anyhow…

Soccer last night was a tiring experience. There is now another Eliot Sinclair team in the comp (the teams consist of mostly people from Chan’s work) so I filled in at goalie for the other team, before backing up the game after to play for my own team. The good news was that both teams walked away with victories which was very exciting. My injured wrist held up pretty well and i’m going to have an excellent scab on my elbow from the astro-turf.

In other news, I’m hopefully pretty close to being able to show of a couple of new websites I have done for work. They are mostly completed, and we are getting close to switching them on. I will let you know as soon as they’re up and you can have a look.

That’s all for now.

Songs

Its funny, I’m usually not one for memories and nostalgia. But i was thinking today of certain songs (as they come on at work) and what they remind me off. Thought i would jot a few things down. [update: this post was started a while back, but thought i might throw it out there today].

Greivance - Pearl Jam (from Binaural)
I bought Binaural from Soundgarden in hurstville (anyone remember them?). Our house was getting renovated at the time, so we were living at Mama and Papa’s house (my grandparents) while they were living down the coast in Austinmer. I had a pet crow called Claude. It was cool. The album itself was a bit of a dissapointment, but this track was one of the good ones.

In transit

on thursday i put on morning tea at work. poor jordan had to out up with me commandeering the kitchen from last saturday but in the end it was all good.

i cooked vegemite scrolls, rice bubble squares, choc-caramel bites, white chocolate drops, rocky road and scones. in in spectacular form - i forgot to take photos until it was mostly eaten. heres a photo of the left overs…there 12 full plates when i startedLeftovers [220807]

we have just gotten home for the evening after picking up our baby from the vet after his little ‘boy operation’ and he is doing ok. a little drowsy and wonky and stuff but doing ok. i was able to call them at lunchtime to make sure he woke up - and he did - he is doing alright.  just getting used to the house again and stuff - pretty funny.

Quite Times

Like Chan said, there’s not a whole lot going on at the moment, life is happily puddling along. I haven’t got too much to say, but figured I should blog anyhow.

Work has been crazy hectic, and I have had loads of busy-work. The other designer Johnny is going on leave at the end of the week, so we are madly trying to get everything sorted so the place doesn’t fall apart while he isn’t here. They have hired another designer to fill the gap while Johnny is away, but he only started late last week, so for the most part i will be holding the fort.

I’m coming down with the flu which is a bit sad, but chan has been wonderful and taking care of me. Hopefully i won’t get too sick, and even more hopefully I won’t pass it on to her.

That’s all for now. Will let you know if anything exciting happens.

hmmm

ok so i feel like i should say something but im not sure what to say.

right now jordan is playing with Jax and his new toy (a stick with string and feathers attached)  and its quite the funny - he can really jump now - i almost feel bad that we are getting him fixed this week - he wont be jumping much after that - ouch!!

work has been good and busy but im loving that its only for 5 days of the week. we had a pretty good weekend and sang at church this morning - we even knew some of the songs!

im going to stop now - will write more when theres more to say

just when you think…

that the weather is finally becoming predictable enough that you feel like you ‘belong’ in your new country - it turns stupid again.

this morning we were in the rain (more sun showerish) on our side of the road, and the corner diagonal did not get a drop of wetness… although there was a lovely rainbow.

and tonight on the way home at 10pm it had hit -1 degree and dropping…

in other news - work is going well for me - my colleagues are a wealth of knowledge on Chch and what it has to offer for me to do and what to eat - apparently - thanks to Jono and Pete, Dimitri’s has the best souvlaki in Christchurch, even though it comes looking like a waffle cone full of meat and salad (hard to explain). now all it has to do is be nicer weather so i can venture out at lunch without getting frozen (or lost - oops).

check out my new shoes!!!

We certainly had an uncommonly interesting friday afternoon at work than normal this week just past. It started with pizza for lunch and ended with us throwing ourselves off a four story building.
