holding pattern

Have you ever been on the brink of possibly life altering decisions and just dont want to make a decision or a move either way just in case its wrong…

And have you noticed that these decisions always come in plural… not just one decision but many - and that many have flow on effects that can be much bigger than the actual decision itself…

It doesnt always have to be big decisions either - even just a truthful answer to a simple question can have you second guessing for a long time to come…

and its only Wednesday…

i’m not sure why it came as a shock to me but the other day i was typing in a URL on my computer and for the first time since moving here i typed .co.nz at the end

believe me, i have made the .com.au mistake a LOT since i hve been here but it was the first mistake the other way… does that make me a kiwi now???

and after pointing out that we get ANZAC day here in my last post - i was asked today if Australia gets the day off too? - HELLO!! what do you think the A stands for??

wint-er?

yeah so - on the way to work this morning i hear on the radio that its snowing in Dunedin (home of the Cadbury Factory and Speights Brewery) its only mid-april so kind of looks like a chilly one this coming winter…

In other news - Back at work and glad its Friday already - short week next week for ANZAC day (yes the NZ in ANZAC stands for New Zealand and we do get the day off) so its going to be nice to ease back into it with a 4 day week next week.

My first project back at work is writing profiles for staff members for our new website and i’ve discovered how hard it is to get some people to talk themselves up… and other to stop, i guess it all comes down to personality but wow, its hard work.

Life returns to normal

Well I’m back at work today, after 2 wonderful weeks off and traversing the South Island.

Work survived without me (no surprise there) and there wasn’t too much stuff to come back to, just a few bits and pieces. Chan’s mum is still here today and tomorrow, then Chan goes back to work on Wednesday as well.

I’m working through the photos from the trip (we ended up with close to 2500) and the first couple of days are up on flickr. More coming soon.

Birthdays and Anniversaries

chan | 11/4/081 Comment

Its that time of year - when we look back over the last 12 months and what it has meant for us.

In just the last couple of weeks we have celebrated 7 years together, 2 years of being married, 1 year of living in NZ, Jords 1st NZ Birthday, my 2nd NZ birthday, Jaxons 1st Birthday and 1 year since we got our house and car…

We are now back in Chch after our trip around with mum and we have all had a great time (see jordans side for pics and links)

We still consider ourselves completely blessed to have moved to NZ and despite missing Australia an awful lot, we are still so happy to be here and are very much still enjoying it. We are planning a trip home in September to catch up with everyone.

We are a little nervous about our 2nd winter here as we have been warmed that last year was “nothing” compared to normal so i might get to see snow actually falling this year but that means lots of cold!!!

Hopefully we will ahve pics of the holiday up soon for you all to see but thats all for me for now…

IMG_0532.JPGHi everyone. We’re a couple of days into the trip, and having a great time. Today we drove down from Oamaru and we’re sleeping tonight in Dunedin before an exciting day tomorrow. The photo above is from the Moeraki Boulders, naturally formed rocks on one of the beaches down the east coast. Stay tuned for more updates (and photos) when available.
