Missing

As you can see from the post to the right, it’s been a bit of a sad week in the Gillman household. It’s now been 5 days since we’ve seen Jaxon.

Given that he almost never stays out even overnight, that’s a real worry. We are in contact with vets, pet shops and the RSPCA and have letterboxed the local streets.

We’re Still holding out some hope, but it’s quite exhausting in some ways, being alert for every sound, and only half sleeping in the hope he might just reappear.

In the meantime we have dusted off my old fish tank, and would like to welcome buster, Lucille, and the four kiddy fish.

Lover not a Fighter

It turns out the above title is NOT an apt description for jackson. He arrived home the other night with a limp and wouldn’t let either of us near enough to his foot to take a look. We could tell there was a gash of some description on his foot, but couldn’t tell much more.

He was still limping and feeling sorry for himself when we got up the next morning, so we took him to the vet last night to be looked out.

Hiding

grounded

Our boy is grounded!!!

he has been sneaking his friends in during the day and making sure they are gone by the time we get home - but the other night  we were woken by a fairly hysterical meowing cat - when jordan ran downstairs thinking Jx was dying - he found a cat stuck in the cat door trying to get out…

Final Destination 3 trailer and if that wasnt enough - we got home today after work to open the door and hear the cat door go as his ‘friend’ ran out the back door.

we feel like we are raising a teenage boy - maybe in cat terms he is - but its getting crazy… he shares his food with anyone who wants it, he comes home late, he doesnt call,  he is awake all hours, he sneaks out the windows, he takes the car without asking… well maye not but you get the idea…

we do love him though - he’s our baby :)

no kids for us - a cat is enough

tennis or cricket or both

We have found this week that it has been both good and bad to be watching live sport from australia. on one hand - becuase of perths 4 hour delay - we are getting to see a lot more of the cricket (despite Oz playing badly) but the 2 hour Melbourne delay has been depriving me of more sleep than i like ot admit. we have had a few very late nights and last night i called it quits at the end of the 4th set. Melbourne is looking quite lovely and we have both felt a little homesick as last year we spent time watcing the Open with family and friends.

Jaxon is becoming increasingly confused as his “awake time” which is the middle of the night is now being impeded to he has taken to sleeping just about anywhere that he can be the most annoying, but he is still so adorable we have to love him.

Below is a picture of him completely asleep (to the point where when i picked him up to move him he didnt wake up!)

Reclining

He’s just so cute, i thought I had to share. Don’t be fooled by the cute, docile exterior. Inside is an evil, naughty, misbehaving beast. Some of the time. Well most of the time.

Recently jaxon has discovered he can jump up onto the table, giving him access to anything left on said table, as well as our kitchen bench and set of bookshelves. We have come home on a number of occasions to find things “relocated” and yesterday we came home to discover that our quiche dish had been nudged off the bench and was in numerous peices on the floor.

Ah the hazards of a pet. But we love him.
