It’s sometimes funny how things work out.
I can’t say too much about it at this stage (more info will be coming later) but I just wanted to recognise two things. Firstly the fact that God clearly has things sorted in ways that I wouldn’t for the life of me see coming. Clearly i need to be reminded of that regularly.
Secondly, how fantastic, thoughtful and supportive my wife is in encouraging me to persevere with things I may have otherwise given up on.

I hate bills at the best of times.
They are always a pain (albeit a necessity) but I got a ruder shock than normal this morning when I opened up our power bill.
Our usage (and charges) were through the roof. Up almost three times our previous quarter, and 1.5 times our usage this time last year. A call to the company confirmed this was indeed accurate. We are now left figuring out what has caused the spike - if it is a new appliance or if an old one has a power leak or something.
Crazy times.

word of the week
Funny how many times this word has cropped up this week. Be it ignoring a request, instruction, behaviours, people or opinions. Some have been mine but most have been observed in others and it makes me wonder how selfish people can actually be.
To deliberately ignore someone or something seems to me to be a way of making it clear that you think you know best, to the detriment of friendship, safety, sanity or something else completely.
i have no solution - its just an observation - and a sad one at that…

weird!
yeah i know - but that was the only movie quote i could think of with sherbet in it.
so - i made some, sime sherbet - it wasnt orange though - it was rasberry - and it was awesome - and quite easy and did i mention awesome - kind of fizzy and sour and all the right things that sherbet could be. sadly people at the party didnt love it - but all our other house guests over the weekend did - woohoo.

the weekend of upsets in the NRL draw this weekend served as a good reminder and life lesson that nothing is certain. yes, a tenuous link but a good one i thought :)
i never really have gotten too interested in the inner workings of tipping comps - usually a good bit of fun - but after being outright leader in the comp for 12 weeks now - its so sad that this weekend (thanks to all of the “certain” winners) i have been equalled in points by another colleague.
luckily the fate of the world isnt hanging by my tips each week - but i hopefully will be able to hold out for a few more rounds.
