What do you do when your first instinct when you meet someone is to bite them?
No im not referring to some crazed vampire person but to the introduction between Bentley and Ella.

I guess at the ‘parents’ of one of the parties involved, being nervous was expected… but we couldn’t have been prouder of our boy. He was well behaved and even played a little with his new friend. No claws were involved at all but he certainly had some sharing issues with some of Ellas toys and her mat to sit on.
I know that i was, and am assuming everyone else was blown away by the amazing gentleness shown by both baby and kitten. There was touching and patting and sitting together and not the slightest hint of a problem. The 4 of us adults all perched and ready to snap into intervene but we all just watched the two of them get to know each other a little bit.
I hope this is a friendship that will last a long, long time.
from this picture of them sharing a chair it looks like maybe it might…

IMG_0532.JPGHi everyone. We’re a couple of days into the trip, and having a great time. Today we drove down from Oamaru and we’re sleeping tonight in Dunedin before an exciting day tomorrow. The photo above is from the Moeraki Boulders, naturally formed rocks on one of the beaches down the east coast. Stay tuned for more updates (and photos) when available.

A Group Shot

It was great to have kel and dave over here for the easter break, and sad when they had to go home. But now we are counting down to two weeks of holidays.

Well, its been a whirlwind weekend, and we apologise for the silence on the blog, but i’m here to fill you in now.

Early on Saturday afternoon we headed to the airport to pick up my parents for a visit. This morning we dropped them off at the train station and they are driving around the South Island for 2 weeks before checking back in with us for a weekend. Yesterday was Labour Day in NZ so we got a long weekend, and we managed to make it a jam packed one. (photos are forthcoming once I upload them)

Here’s a funny story :)

Yesterday morning, emma, dan, chan and myself left the house at 4am to head to the airport, in order for emma and dan to get their flight home after a few days with us, and driving around the island. Needless to say we were all pretty bleary-eyed and tired, but they got the hire car dropped off ok, and we all arrived at the airport. When we got inside we checked the departure board and saw the one word you don’t want to see when looking there… Canceled. Keep reading…

Winter Wonderness

jord | 9/7/070 Comments

For us it was an epic event – for those who live here – its an annoying thing that happens every winter – but for the first time ever on Saturday – Jordan and Channah (and Emma) saw snow for the first time up close.

Em and Dan have come over for a holiday and we took the opportunity on their weekend with us to see the cold white stuff everyone has complained about at work for the past few weeks.

Sorry for the handful of days of silence. We have been pretty busy, and are getting ready for our first overseas visitors. In fact they are probably in the air right now.
Em and Dan are coming to visit. They will be staying with us for a couple of days before going and having their own adventure around the South Island. So if you dont hear from us for a couple of days, its cos we’re out and about. We’re hoping to get our first look at snow tomorrow as we head up to one of the ski fields for a look. Cold. but fun.
