Not of Myself

jord | 3/9/101 Comment

It’s sometimes funny how things work out.

I can’t say too much about it at this stage (more info will be coming later) but I just wanted to recognise two things. Firstly the fact that God clearly has things sorted in ways that I wouldn’t for the life of me see coming. Clearly i need to be reminded of that regularly.

Secondly, how fantastic, thoughtful and supportive my wife is in encouraging me to persevere with things I may have otherwise given up on.

Should triplej Hire Jordan?

jord | 22/7/100 Comments

triplej has a job going at the moment for the lead of its digital team.

This would be a dream job, so I have decided to apply. As a part of that I have put together the site Should Triple J Hire Jordan?

You should go check it out…

Boring

I wish there was more for me to say, but sadly this is an indication of my time recently.

Most things have been on the backburner while I have been winding up some projects for work. That looks to be coming to an end though, so hopefully my blogging will pick up again soon.

In the meantime, if you need to buys some presents for your kids/nephews/nieces/grandkids or just for yourself, check out Chalk and Parent Direct (2 sites I redesigned that have just launched).

Telling stories

jord | 4/6/100 Comments

I came across this article the other day.

It doesn’t even need any commentary from me…

Where God is at work, when He heals people and changes communities, there are meaningful stories to tell.
As Christians, communicators, and leaders, we ought to be about the business of telling those God-stories to the people that need to hear them.

Toys and more Toys

Just in time for school to go back for the new year, and I had a big site go live.

Teaching.com.au has been a major undertaking, and has taken up most of my past 2 months. MTA sell educational toys to Schools, childcare centres and kindergartens all around Australia and New Zealand.

With this new site release they have also started selling direct to the public. Go and take a look, I guarantee you will find something you want to buy.

More Snow

jord | 11/8/081 Comment

We must be acclimatising if it took us this long to mention it, but it snowed again on the weekend. There was a little blanket of white when we woke up on Saturday morning, but sadly it had all been washed to mush by about lunchtime by the rain. But needless to say, it was very chilly all weekend. We are mostly used to it, but sometimes its just freezing.

Work has been pretty busy, but starting to get a little quieter now. We’ve had a handful of sites laucnh recently that I’ve been involved in. You can read about them over here.

We’re counting down to September, and really looking forward to getting to see everyone while we are visiting. Only a couple of weeks to go.

Finals Time

Well Team Cabbage have made the semi finals of indoor soccer, and tonight is the moment of truth.

Despite getting beaten 9-1 last week, we still squeaked into 4th place. Sadly we are taking on the number one team, who also happen to be those who slaughtered us last week. It should at least be interesting.

Bread and Roses rip

UPDATE: We were valiant, but we went down 1-0 in a tight game. The only goal came from a deflection in the 5th minute. So it was a great improvement over last week.

Quietness

jord | 15/6/081 Comment

Its been pretty quiet over my side of the blog, so I must apologise. Its been crazy busy at work the last couple of weeks, so the weekends have been deliberatly quiet. Lovely and relaxing.

After the flurry of snow last weekend it has become much milder, although there is always the threat of it getting cold again ina real hurry. The ski fields have started opening up (the major reason for work being hectic) and are hoping for a cold and snowy winter. We haven’t decided yet wether we will head to the snow, part of us is hoping that we will get to see some more of it in christchurch :)

Life returns to normal

jord | 13/4/081 Comment

Well I’m back at work today, after 2 wonderful weeks off and traversing the South Island.

Work survived without me (no surprise there) and there wasn’t too much stuff to come back to, just a few bits and pieces. Chan’s mum is still here today and tomorrow, then Chan goes back to work on Wednesday as well.

I’m working through the photos from the trip (we ended up with close to 2500) and the first couple of days are up on flickr. More coming soon.
