Just in time for school to go back for the new year, and I had a big site go live.
Teaching.com.au has been a major undertaking, and has taken up most of my past 2 months. MTA sell educational toys to Schools, childcare centres and kindergartens all around Australia and New Zealand.
With this new site release they have also started selling direct to the public. Go and take a look, I guarantee you will find something you want to buy.
As of about two and a half hours ago I am now a licensed driver in New Zealand. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
We must be acclimatising if it took us this long to mention it, but it snowed again on the weekend. There was a little blanket of white when we woke up on Saturday morning, but sadly it had all been washed to mush by about lunchtime by the rain. But needless to say, it was very chilly all weekend. We are mostly used to it, but sometimes its just freezing.
Work has been pretty busy, but starting to get a little quieter now. We’ve had a handful of sites laucnh recently that I’ve been involved in. You can read about them over here.
We’re counting down to September, and really looking forward to getting to see everyone while we are visiting. Only a couple of weeks to go.
Well Team Cabbage have made the semi finals of indoor soccer, and tonight is the moment of truth.
Despite getting beaten 9-1 last week, we still squeaked into 4th place. Sadly we are taking on the number one team, who also happen to be those who slaughtered us last week. It should at least be interesting.
UPDATE: We were valiant, but we went down 1-0 in a tight game. The only goal came from a deflection in the 5th minute. So it was a great improvement over last week.
Its been pretty quiet over my side of the blog, so I must apologise. Its been crazy busy at work the last couple of weeks, so the weekends have been deliberatly quiet. Lovely and relaxing.
After the flurry of snow last weekend it has become much milder, although there is always the threat of it getting cold again ina real hurry. The ski fields have started opening up (the major reason for work being hectic) and are hoping for a cold and snowy winter. We haven’t decided yet wether we will head to the snow, part of us is hoping that we will get to see some more of it in christchurch :)
Well I’m back at work today, after 2 wonderful weeks off and traversing the South Island.
Work survived without me (no surprise there) and there wasn’t too much stuff to come back to, just a few bits and pieces. Chan’s mum is still here today and tomorrow, then Chan goes back to work on Wednesday as well.

For the past 9 months my bus driver to work in the morning has almost always been the same guy. I can think of 2 or 3 occasions when it was someone different, but it has almost always been him.
For some reason, my morning bus always runs 5-10 minutes late. I always end up sitting at the terminal watching as the time to arrival on the screen sits at 2 minutes for extended periods of time, then all of a sudden it goes straight to 0 and he is here.
This morning i sat down to wait for my bus, with the screen saying 2 minutes to go, and to my surprise it counted down to 1, and then shortly afterwards to 0 and the bus arrived. I got on, to find that its a different bus driver. And I ended up getting to work 10 minutes earlier than normal…
Hi everybody, sorry I have been so quiet, not an awful lot happening. Life continues on as normal. Australia Day was super low-key, and it was very sad to be at work yesterday when we knew everyone back home was having a public holiday, but that’s ok.
The most exciting news so far is that I have another site live. Autorentals is a car and campervan hire company, an existing client who’s site we redesigned and revamped.
I’ll keep this pretty brief, and let the photos do the talking, but I just wanted to fill you in on my work Christmas Party/Camp which was held over the weekend. On Friday night a handful of us headed down to camp at Okains Bay, and a bunch more joined us on Saturday morning.
Just a few quick notes to fill you in on the weekend…
After a few drinks on friday night (at the Vic and Whale) we had a fabulous dinner at a chinese restaurant down on Colombo St (whose name I need to find out). Its fantastic to have somewhere where you will know you will get good chinese food, instead of having to take a punt.
On Saturday morning we headed out to New Brighton to check out a new cafe called Fuel for breakfast. The food was lovely (we are more and more understanding the virtues of free-range eggs) and the coffee was passable. After that we headed to SaveMart (a giant op-shop) to get some second hand clothes and did our fruit and vege (and grocery) shopping before heading home.
