Well we're here and settled. We have a house, a cat, and both have jobs we're enjoying. We also have a phone. The number is (02)8005 0562 and is a local number in Sydney. We would love to hear from you. There's also an ugly button.

We had quite a treat yesterday afternoon, when we got to see Tripod (a comedy trio from melbourne for the uninitiated) play live in Christchurch. They were in town for the Christchurch Cabaret Festival, which is an odd sort of fit for them, but we weren’t complaining.
We were sitting directly beneath the stage, about as close as you get, and it was fantastic. It was great to hear some Aussie accents, and we both found ourselves in fits in laughter, especially sorrounding the phrase “whatever the christchurch equivalent of Aus-Kick is” being sung mid song.
Oh, and the played “Hot Dog Man”. Need I say more.

Its been pretty quiet over my side of the blog, so I must apologise. Its been crazy busy at work the last couple of weeks, so the weekends have been deliberatly quiet. Lovely and relaxing.
After the flurry of snow last weekend it has become much milder, although there is always the threat of it getting cold again ina real hurry. The ski fields have started opening up (the major reason for work being hectic) and are hoping for a cold and snowy winter. We haven’t decided yet wether we will head to the snow, part of us is hoping that we will get to see some more of it in christchurch :)

yesterday we started out with a temperature of -4 degrees and i merrily skated to work down the footpath resembling closely the walk of a penguin… Everything looked like it had been sprinkled with glitter as the ice had set in. Still no snow to speak of close to Christchurch but its been a fun a freezing week with stories of frozen heat pumps and 10km per hour speed limits on the way into town.
Today in contrast we are expecting tops of 13 which will be a nice and warm change.
In true Aussie styles we are having a bbq tonight to celebrate the State of Origin decider even if it means that half our guests will leave early because they are too soft to stay up and watch the game.
Jaxon is enjoying the cooler weather and looks forward to being tucked in to bed before we head upstairs. Jordan thinks he is a sook - i think he just loves his mum tucking him in…

After almost 3 full weeks without an oven - it is finally fixed!!!
i honestly didnt realise how much we relied on this contraption and in fact - missed the heat is brought to the room more than the actual food use for it :)
Whilst i was in Aussie - i received a text from Jordan telling me the inside of the door “exploded”. and indeed it had - but 3 weeks later after it was lost - found - stuck in Wellington - stuck in a van - and on friday night out inner door was replaced by Doug - a lovely guy who wouldnot be beaten when the original broken bit wouldnt come out…
thanks Doug!!

I have been contemplating this word a bit lately and the things that surround a stereotypre or event that then has a stigma attached to it - and how the opinions of society can change that.
There are things onced frowned upon now becoming so much more evolved and popular that you have to wonder if they were ever wrong - or if your perception has been changed along with the majority of people.
I believe that if you do things for your own reasons and not those of others - you can be whoever you want to be.
