This week ha been an…. interesting one. We’ve been working on improving PlusOne’s ability to sleep on her own – we’ve ben seeing some improvement, but it is still hard work.
In the midst of all of that, however, she is still lovely to be around when she is awake. We had fun catching up with W + J, and also playing with cousin A.
We also had a lovely surprise visit in Wollongong from Auntie K, Cousin A and Nan – which was lots of fun.
Playtime on the floor is resulting in a lot more movement and activity which is exciting to watch. She certainly enjoys getting around on the rug.

The big news this week is that PlusOne turned 6 months old. We can barely believe it has been that long, but looking back at photos you can see how much she has changed and grown already.
This week has been another unsettled one by combination of another tooth popping through & her 6 month needles – but she has taken it all in stride. This week included:
- A trip to Engadine to see Auntie K and cousin A
- An evening at home with Dad
- A trip to Austi to watch the football

In a surprise turn of events we discovered that PlusOne had a tooth coming through. It certainly explained the restless nights she has been having. We also went bowling to celebrate the Daddo’s birthday, where she somehow managed to sleep through the lights and noise.
She’s getting much more self sufficient talking to herself and playing by herself, but her favourite thing by far is the puppy. If he is in the room – then she is totally infatuated with him.

So what happened this week?
- A fun trip to Culburra beach with S, K & O meant the first night in a new portacot (with mixed success)
- ‘Dadadada’ has become a regular occurrence, particularly when sad or in need of something.
- First witnessed rolling from back to front
- Dad’s turn for swimming lessons this week.

PlusOne continues to grow up at the speed of sound.
This week she had her first swimming lesson (evidence in the photos). She did marvellously – although it was very interesting to see her taking on some of the characteristics of Dad in the way she was carefully taking stock of everything before having an opinion on whether she liked it.
She now rolls from back to front – particularly in bed through the night. It has become something of a surprise every morning to see where she has ended up in her cot.
The ‘talking’ continues – and she keeps finding new noises she can make which become popular for a couple of days before just becoming part of the repertoire.

Its been an interesting week this week. Previous sleep patterns have given way to a lot of unsettledness during the night. At the same time there has been much more chatting, and lots more movement during tummy time – so everything is happening.
PlusOne has decided she has a taste for Avocado – ironic given that neither of us like it. At all. So she can have all of it.
We’ve also started enjoying the high chair a lot more – which is freeing mum and dad up when we go out anywhere
Now… on the photos.
This week we had a new first that we weren’t looking forward to. Our first cold. It hasn’t been the most pleasant experience for our little girl but she has been such a trooper.
Despite that, we have been out and about exploring the world and it’s been a fun week.
At 5 months old, our little girl is developing right before our eyes. So many new sights and sounds to experience.
We are preparing to embark on first solids this month and are quite interested to see how it goes.
We began month 5 with her first cold which has been mostly ok but a little bit traumatic for mum.
Our baby is growing so quickly now, chatting so much more, expressing herself both vocally and physically. She has somewhat of a stubborn streak that will be interesting to watch as time goes by.
She’s a happy girl who doesn’t complain about much and who loves to watch the world go by.
A bit of a quieter week this week – but with a few new things.
PlusOne has discovered her voice this week. Anytime she isn’t eating, sleeping or sad we are now treated to squeaks, squeals, exclamations and grunts. It’s quite hilarious to listen to her as she discovers new sounds she can make. She regularly has long in depth conversations with her toy octopus and Kuikenpop.
She’s getting much better at sitting – and has been in high chairs a couple of times now, as well as getting used to shopping trolleys.
We’ve also noticed her taking a lot more interest in the dog, and what he is up to – could be interesting in the near future.
