Blessings

I was listening to Jordan practice music today at church and my heart almost burst with pride at the amazing man my husband is.
I can help but think he will be the best daddy in the world and how lucky plus one will be growing with his leadership and wonderful example of what it means to be a Godly man.
In 10 short weeks (or there abouts) we will get to meet our little plus one and I just can’t wait for them to meet their dad.

Classes

Pre-natal classes start tonight.

I have a little bit of an idea what to expect – and the prospect is a little scary. All important, and it will be really good to know – but scary nonetheless. We’ve been told that the people you meet in your class often end up being those you end up spending a lot more time with in the future – so we’ll see how that goes.

It also marks another step in the path of things getting ever closer.
By the time these classes are done – we’re really getting to the pointy end.

Exciting stuff.

Kyle Steed on ‘Planning for Papahood’

I just read a really great article from a designer/illustrator who I follow on twitter. I thought i would share it here – as he manages to articulate FAR better than I would be able to – many of the things I’ve been thinking myself. It’s a really great read.

Planning for Papahood.

A brief interlude

A few weeks back we were lucky enough to head down to Melbourne for the weekend. I was speaking at a conference, and we decided to make a weekend of it – spending a couple of days doing fun things.

It was lovely.

6 months

In terms of weeks v months in the pregnancy clock/cycle, today was something of an eclipse. I am 26 weeks pregnant and today I am 6 months.
It’s crazy to think that in around 13 weeks we will meet our little Plus one.
And if the amount of movement is anything to go by, they will be a very active baby!!

A bit more real

So I have an app on my phone that lets me track average pregnancy stats and dates etc.
Today the measurements went from head-to-bum to head-to-toe and there is always a fruit or veg to go along with it.
Things just got a lot more real.

I Stand Corrected

It seems ever since plusone found out about my complaints – they have changed their tune.

It was a couple of days before Chan read the blog – and it seemed that almost immediately afterwards plusone started moving around  with a vengeance. Since then it has been a steady stream of flips, elbows and kicks. I’ve even managed to see movement from the outside – utter craziness.

I like to think that KickPuncher is in there.

Playing hard to get.

So far Chan has been getting a lot of action from plusone periodically. On numerous occasions I’ve been instructed to very quickly come and put my hand on her belly. So far with only a little luck.

Sadly, plusone seems to be playing hard to get. There are two times where I think I have felt something –  a little flutter, or a little bump. But they were both very slight.

I can’t wait until I feel a convincing thud under my hand.

Appointments

Being that I am classed as ‘high risk’ because I have diabetes, I have appointments with my Endo every 4 weeks and the Clinic every 3 weeks.
Today I had double barrelled appointments and all went awesome :)
The Endo said I deserve a gold medal for my performance with my diabetes and the O.B measured me and listened to Plus One’s heartbeat.
We are both very excited about it all and hopefully time will go quickly till the next appointments.
We also booked in for our birthing classes due to start in June. I’m not sure how I feel about that but better to have more information than not enough.
